Terms and conditions of purchase

Thank you for your interest in The Pilates Expo. These Terms and Conditions govern your participation in The Pilates Expo event. By purchasing an event ticket or engaging with our platform, you accept and agree to these Terms and Conditions.

1.Event Services 

1.1. The Pilates Expo is operated by Burgess Australasia Pty Ltd atf The Burgess Family Trust (ABN: 23 409 436 174) ("The Pilates Expo"). Access to and participation in The Pilates Expo event is provided by The Pilates Expo.

1.2. The Pilates Expo provides an opportunity for attendees to engage with industry professionals, exhibitors, and presenters through workshops, networking sessions, and presentations. Ticket sales grant access to the event as outlined in the purchased ticket category.

2. Personal Information and privacy policy

2.1. When purchasing a ticket or engaging with The Pilates Expo, you may be required to provide personal information such as your name, email address, and phone number.​

2.2. By providing your personal details, you consent to The Pilates Expo collecting, storing, and using this information for event communication, marketing, and future event updates.​

2.3. Your personal information will be handled in accordance with The Pilates Expo’s Privacy Policy. We take reasonable steps to ensure your personal data is stored securely and is not shared with third parties outside of our event partners and service providers.​

2.4. You may opt out of marketing communications at any time by following the unsubscribe link in our emails or contacting us directly.

3. Ticket sales and refunds

3.1. Tickets for The Pilates Expo are non-refundable. Please ensure you are available to attend before completing your purchase.​

3.2. Tickets are transferable. If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your ticket to another individual by providing their details to The Pilates Expo at least 48 hours before the event.​

3.3. Tickets for The Pilates Expo are sold through a third-party platform. When purchasing tickets, you are entering into an agreement with this third-party platform, and their terms and conditions will apply in addition to those outlined here. We recommend reviewing their terms carefully before making a purchase.​

3.4. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, The Pilates Expo reserves the right to reschedule, modify, or cancel the event. If the event is cancelled, ticket holders will be notified of available options, including possible rescheduling.

4. Event participation and Conduct

4.1. Attendees must conduct themselves professionally and respectfully throughout the event. Any behaviour deemed inappropriate may result in removal from the event without a refund.​

4.2. Photography and videography may occur during the event. By attending, you consent to The Pilates Expo using event footage for promotional and educational purposes. If you do not wish to appear in any promotional material, please inform event staff upon arrival.​

4.3. The Pilates Expo is not responsible for any personal belongings lost, stolen, or damaged during the event.

5. Mailing list and sms list

5.1. When purchasing a ticket, you may be given the opportunity to sign up for The Pilates Expo Mailing List and SMS List.

5.2. As part of the registration process, you may be required to provide personal information about yourself, including:​

  • Email address​

  • Name​

  • Phone Number

5.3. If you choose to register for the Mailing List or SMS List, you agree to receive promotional material, updates, and other content from The Pilates Expo.​

5.4. You can opt out at any time by following the unsubscribe process contained in the communication.

6. Force Majeure

6.1. The Pilates Expo is not liable for any delays, changes, or cancellations due to circumstances beyond its control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government restrictions, pandemics, or technical failures.

7. Liability & Indemnity

7.1. Participation in The Pilates Expo is at your own risk. The Pilates Expo is not responsible for any injury, loss, or damage sustained during the event.​

7.2. The Pilates Expo makes no guarantees regarding the benefits or outcomes of attending the event. All information shared during the event is for educational purposes only and should not replace professional advice.

8. independent legal advice

8.1. Both parties confirm and declare that the provisions of these Terms are fair and reasonable. Both parties have taken the opportunity to obtain independent legal advice and declare that these Terms are not against public policy on the grounds of inequality or bargaining power or general grounds of restraint of trade.

9. severance

9.1. If any part of these Terms is found to be void or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that part will be severed, and the rest of the Terms will remain in force.

10. Governing Law

10.1. These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of New South Wales.
